Hello! My name is Goy. I am originally from Thailand. I moved to the United States when I was 14 years old. I decided to move to the United States because I have relatives here in Lake Oswego, Oregon. I have been living here for about 10 years. These past ten years I have only been living in Oregon in which so far I really love it here.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Portland State University.  I am now representing Portland State University and Master of International Management as an ambassador.

Why MIM?: I decided to pursue a higher education by choosing Master of International Management at Portland State University because I wanted to double major in Accounting and Supply Chain & Logistics when I was in undergraduate. However, the required SLM course does not offer every term and it will delay my graduation. Therefore, I chose MIM to pursue a career in SLM focusing on Asia Pacific.  I chose to study Chinese in MIM program because China is an emerging and fastest growing market in the world right now. By knowing the language will surely benefit me in the future if my work is associated with China. I am currently specialize in Supply Chain and Finance in MIM program because there is many work opportunities in the logistics area and I have always been interesting in finance in which I believe it would help my career in the future.

How does MIM different than MBA?: Master of International Management offers core curriculum of business courses similar to MBA program however, the MIM degree focuses on international issues that related to Asia Pacific Rim markets. The curriculum also require us to either study Chinese or Japanese which would be beneficial for us in conducting business in Asia.  MIM classes have a mixed diversity of students from around the world. I am able to learn many perspectives and view points from students around the world as well as building the networking and learning cultures. MIM degree is a recommended program if you’re interested in doing business in Asia Pacific. The program does not offer only a connection among cohorts; it gave the most memorable experience during our Asia Trip as part of the requirement in the program.
